[allAfrica] Cape Town -More than 34,000 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Africa in the two months since the first confirmed case of the disease on the continent, with over 1,500 lives lost. Dr Matshidiso Moeti, World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Director for Africa, said physical distancing and national lockdowns are some of the measures used to mitigate the spread of the novel coronavirus, reducing the total number of cases when combined with increased testing.
