    [This Day] Nigeria's northern region could become an oil producing jurisdiction soon following disclosure yesterday by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) that it had discovered hydrocarbon deposits in the Kolmani River II Well on the Upper Benue Trough/Gongola Basin.
